As the summer has recently swung around to autumn, Gene17Kayaking’s schedule starts to focus in at the autumn & winter programme. News on our full course dates, can be found in autumn courses
Online Booking. To start our Devonshire residence we run the Rivers Source gathering, with attractive clinics and weekend courses. Most of Gene17Kayaking’s top team will be in attendance, along with our 2015 Norway Intern Sal Montgomery and new Brand Ambassidor & Cornish girl, Amy Elworthy. Saturday Clinics
Simon Westgarth – “FreeRider Upper Dart”. Simon is the Founder of Gene17Kayaking & sharp shooting coaching with a wealth of expertise. On the “FreeRider Upper Dart” clinic, discover and learn the prize spots and moves to really get the most out of England’s finest white water river. Venue Upper Dart
Sal Montgomery – Ladies FUNdamentals of white water. Fresh back from Gene17Kayaking’s 2015 summer internship, Sal has a lot to offer white water kayaking. She’ll offer best practise made simple, aimed at near beginners for whitewater, and prefect for aspiring coaches to observe and be challenged. This day clinic will be on the Dart Loop.
Amy Elworthy – Upper Dart Guiding. Gene17Kayaking’s brand ambassador, Next Generation graduate and local lass, Amy’s manner and charm takes all the edge off your first or next Upper Dart descent. Your run will be fun and safe, plus you’ll learn a lot about this river section and lines to enjoy.
Sunday Clinics
Simon Westgarth – “Coach Education Update”. Simon is the Founder of Gene17Kayaking & sharp shooting coaching with a wealth of expertise. During the clinic we look at the role of the adventure sports coach, and its application to coaching on white water. Your performance & coaching model will be challenged. This clinic is ideal for progressives, coaches, paddlers and happy kayakers.

Andrew Bonney – “Fly your Upper Dart lines”. Bonney is one of a new wave of excellent coaches arriving into performance coaching. Thinking about 5 Star Training or just need to be put through your paces before Assessment? This is a day to see what lines can be found and enjoyed on the Upper Dart.

Weekend Courses
Chris Eastabrook – Progressive & Dynamic. Another highly qualified coach, with considerable experience. Let us help you step it up a level! If you’ve got the core skills, we’ll show you how to apply new-school dynamic paddling techniques to grade III whitewater. It’s not just about top-to-bottom survival: we’ll teach you a bag of tricks that’ll help you style your way down as an active member of the group, rather than having to rely on someone else to show you the way
Deb Pinniger – BCU 4 Star Training. Deb is a phenomenal coach, with developed expertise that is equally amazing. Her 4 Star Training comes with excellent insight, first hand experience and great coaching.
